Eke out a living

So...

I saw a few fishermen set out in the evening

Life has to be hard for them - to face nature, day in and night out -

To eke out a living

To put their lives on the line

Yet they do it

Again and again

To feed their families

To provide for them

To sustain

Should i be grateful ... that i don't have to face their harsh realities

Should i be pragmatic ... that i have my own realities to face

Is life simpler for them ... or infinitely more rigorous

The answer is obvious
